How Leaders Can Build Connection in a Disconnected Workplace
My first article in Harvard Business Review
Hi Friends,
I wanted to share my first ever article published in Harvard Business Review, How Leaders Can Build Connection in a Disconnected Workplace. It’s been a dream of mine to write for HBR for years, so this one feels like a big win for the perseverance column. I wish I could tell my 2017 self who was frustrated never hearing back about my pitches: you’ll get there buddy, keep going!
In today’s lonely world, human connection is everyone’s job. My article shares a few practical ways to strengthen relationships on your team and foster human connection in a hybrid workforce.
Make workplace connection a ritual.
Make it easier to ask for support and mentorship.
Make onboarding more experiential and about mutual support.
Normalize time off, rest and recharging, and more generous employee health policies (family leave, child care + elder care, mental health support).
Please read the article and share with your people if you find it valuable!
